![]() It's Jog-a-thon kick off time! Your students came home with a collection envelope and Jog-a-Thon information on September 22nd. The 2023 Jog-a-Thon is scheduled for Friday October 6th.. rain or shine! We try to make this a huge event for the students, but we need your help. We need volunteers to help set up, count laps as the students run, hand out post-running treats, and clean up after the event. We would love to have you sign-up on our volunteer list for morning shift, afternoon shift, or the entire day. If you can't do a long stretch - we'd love to have you for as long as you are able to! Just a reminder, all volunteers will need to have a cleared background check with Salem Keizer School District. Click HERE for links Volunteer sign ups and District Background checks. As you may already know, the jogathon is the PTC’s only major fundraiser for the entire school year. This event allows us to provide and/or enhance enrichment programs such as art, music, field trips, computer/tablet learning and assemblies. Additionally, we can provide our wonderful and hardworking teachers additional funds for their classrooms. We are hoping to raise at least $40 per student, $25 per student goes directly back to the classrooms to help the teachers provide supplies, activities and field trips that are not covered by school funds. Donation Info: Children can collect donations through October 6, 2023, donation envelopes need to be turned in to their teachers no later than October 12, 2023 (envelopes can always be turned in ahead of time). Cash and checks can be deposited directly into your child’s donation envelope. Checks must be made out to: Chapman Hill Parent Teacher Club. Click HERE if you would like to donate online! If paying electronically, please make sure to include your child(ren)’s name and teacher so we can allocate their sponsorship accurately. ![]() We hope everyone had an amazing summer! We're very excited for another great school year. Here are some important dates to put on your calendar: Monday August 28th - Kindergarten Orientation from 4pm-5pm - This will be a chance for students and families to meet the teachers and staff, ask questions, etc. Friday September 1st - Classroom Placements Announced - Parents/Guardians will receive an email from the classroom teacher on this date. Please note: Class lists will no longer be posted in the windows. Tuesday September 5th - Open House from 5pm-6pm - This is a drop in event where students and families can tour the school, bring their school supplies, meet the classroom teacher and other Chapman Hill staff. Make sure to stop by the PTC table in the gym! Wednesday September 6th - First Day of School for 1st Grade - 5th Grade - Please note this is a late start day. Monday September 11th & Tuesday September 12th - Kindergarten Transition Days - September 11 and 12 will be a full day of kindergarten with only half of the students in the classroom to allow students to have a smoother start. Students with a last name that starts with A-L will come Monday the 11th and students with the last name of M-Z will come on Tuesday the 12th. Wednesday, September 13th will be the first day of kindergarten for all students together. This slower transition will allow students to become familiar with the routines and structures before they are all in the classroom together for the whole school day. |
